I just love 5-pointed stars. They're my favorite shape.

While doing some doodling in my sketchbook, I had the idea of drawing a bunch of stars with different expressions.

I drew all the stars on my own (no stencils) and then colored them with markers and Sharpies. The shading was done with colored pencil, and the background was done with a black, broad-tipped pen. I used a silver Sharpie to do all the little dots, and dabbed bits of white paint to highlight their faces.

I really like how well that hot pink color turned out on paper.

When editing the photo, I decided to adjust the colors to better reflect how bold it is (none of the photos I take of my artwork accurately show their original brilliance).
